The Somali Ports Authority (SPA) is the national Authority responsible for the ownership, management, administration, regulation, and control of all seaports in the Federal Republic of Somalia.

SPA ensures that Somalia’s ports are safe, efficient, and competitive, serving as vital gateways for trade and economic growth. Our mandate includes:

• Developing, operating, and maintaining port infrastructure and services;
• Regulating and supervising port operations in line with national law and international standards;
• Managing concessions and partnerships with private and international operators;
• Enforcing safety, security, and environmental compliance across all port activities; and
• Supporting Somalia’s economic development and integration into regional and global trade networks.

By fulfilling this mandate, SPA strengthens Somalia’s role as a maritime hub, advancing both national development and regional connectivity.
